Steal Her Style: Taylor Swift

Post date: Tuesday, 29 April 2014

My previous "Steal Her Style" posts have been quite popular, so I've now decided to make them an official monthly piece; ooh la la!
I knew it wouldn't be long until I featured Taylor Swift in one (self-confessed Swiftie right here!), and so I decided I might as well go ahead and indulge in a few hours of Swift stalking. Over the past year, the whole world has watched Taylor's transformation from girl-next-door to it-girl-next-door; long gone are the dowdy dresses and cowboy boots, thankfully having been replaced with bold colours and brogues.

Having firmly cemented herself in the fashion hall of fame, T-Swizzle's red lips are no longer the only pop of colour in her outfits. This cute ensemble is the epitome of smart-casual and the perfect way to inject a bit of colour in to your day to day wardrobe.

1. Izzy Contrast Knit Jumper in Navy - BooHoo, £15 // 2. Gelly Hi Shine Lips in Alpha - Barry M, £4.99 // 3. Full Midi Skirt - Topshop, £45 // 4. Sweatshirt Skirt - H&M, £29.99 // 5. Satchel Bag - ASOS, £18// 6. Ballerina With Bow - ZARA, £22.99// 7. Faux Pearl Earrings - ASOS, £8

Who knew cords could look so cute? Apparently if you're a blonde bombshell and pair them with brogues and a beanie, they're not ugly! This is definitely more of a Winter look, but let's face it, it's Winter 85% of the time here in the UK so I guess that's ok.
1. Double Breasted Peacoat - Topshop, £95 // 2. Boyfriend Beanie - ASOS, £7 // 3. Peter Pan Collar - ASOS Market Place, £7.90 // 4. Black Brogues - New Look, £15.99 // 5. Cord Skinny Trousers - Next, £22 // 6. Polka Dot Print Jumper - John Lewis, £14.99 // 7. Roll Top Satchel - Urban Outfitters, £38

Taylor is rarely seen in anything other than skirts and hot pants these days, and with pins like those, who can blame her? If there's one thing she does well, it's make short skirts look classy and elegant.
1. Cotton Shirt - H&M, £19.99 // 2. Matte Retro Sunglasses - ASOS, £10 // 3. Flower Midi Ring - Topshop, £4.50 // 4. Betana - Kate Kanzier, £30 // 5. Black Scuba Skirt - Topshop, £25 // 6. Lip Stix in Red Devil - Models Own, £5 // 7. Bowler Bag - New Look, £19.99

Taylor's always been a fan of vintage clothing, and whilst these clothes might be from the 21st century, the outfit definitely has a 50s feel to it. Just adding some cute flats, a headband and a dash of lipstick to an otherwise simple outfit transports it in to a whole other decade.

1. Head Scarf - Etsy, £9.76// 2. Red Skinny Jeans - New Look, £19.99 // 3. Stripe T-Shirt - Next, £16 // 4. Small Square Sunglasses - Topshop, £16 // 5. Nail Paint in Blue Moon - Barry M, £2.99 // 6. Ballet Pumps - New Look, £7.99 // 7. Saddle Bag - H&M, £12.99

So, now that I've made myself look a little too infatuated with Taylor Swift, I'll let you get on with your day.
Which look is your favourite?

  1. I have to admit, although I don't really pay much attention to Swift, her style is really simple, and casual, yet lovely all the same time. :)
