Seeing as temperatures last night hit a high of a muggy 24 degrees, me and my friends decided to celebrate the end of exams with a summery barbecue. I took my camera with the intention of taking some picturesque shots of the garden, the food and cocktails. However I quickly realised that I don't actually know anyone who drinks cocktails and after receiving the sarcastic comment "I'm sure people know what bread looks like" I decided to put the camera away for the night and don a tea-cosy instead; if you can't beat them, join them!
However, I did manage to get some shots of the delicious spread that Maisie had put on including sausages, strawberries, potato salad, cupcakes and colourful ice-cubes which I discovered the hard way were actually plastic.
I wore my staple velvet skater skirt from Topshop with a lightweight Urban Outfitters jumper. I threw on my (obviously fake) fur H&M gilet over the top and subsequently spent the night in terror that one of the four cats would see me as some sort of competitor and attack me.
I would also like to take this opportunity to ask anyone who already follows me or enjoys reading my blog to follow me on BlogLovin (there is a follow button on the sidebar) as Google are soon getting rid of Google Friend Connect and so you will no longer be able to read my glorious posts through Google Reader!

Haha, great post! Every time I try and show my artistic side taking picture from different angles around my parents and friends I always get made fun of! They just don't understand, haha. Love the food, love the looks. Was wondering, I love your topshop skirt, any reason you chose it over the American Apparel one? Great post X

Haha yeah it's so annoying, I'm hoping they'll get used to it! I was on a late-night Topshop binge with my mum and we just spontaneously bought it as I'd been lusting after the velvet skater skirts for a while! Thank you for your comment :)
