Some days, I have lots of fun plans that I want to photograph and share with you guys but I never seem to get round to actually documenting them. Of course when I say "fun" I generally mean eating nice food and seeing friends, not shopping for designer dresses or going to the spa. I think the reason I tend not to photograph these moments is because people seem to get rather intimidated whenever I whack out my SLR camera (even I can admit it does sometimes ruin the mood when I'm darting around with a gargantuan camera, trying to get a good shot of someone's meal before I allow them to eat it!). I have realised, however, that people seem to find it a lot less offensive when I want to photograph them on my iPhone as we go about our day to day activities. So, yesterday I got a little bit snap-happy and decided to put together my first "A Day in the Life" post. I don't usually like to post photos on here that weren't taken on my SLR as I'm a stickler for quality, so I'm hoping that my readers aren't as anal as me when it comes to aperture and ISO numbers!
I started the day off by hitting the gym bright and early (11am!!) in my new H&M workout gear. I always find it easier to get motivated to exercise if I know that I'm going to be seeing my friends after.
Every single day I walk past Patisserie Leila and gawk at the amazing selection of macarons they have on display, and today I finally caved and treated myself. I got one chocolate and one orange and mango, and they were hands down the best macarons I've ever had; now that I've sampled them I'm not sure I'll be able to stay away!
I then walked up to meet some friends for lunch at one of our favourite haunts, Blue Lagoon. We all ordered burgers, and filled up on mass amounts of lamb, bacon, cheese, chicken, chips and condiments. Sorrynotsorry.
We then treated ourselves to some "Extreme Hot Chocolates" which are topped off with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, chocolate sauce and the almighty JAZZLES.
We then had to stop in and check up on everyone's favourite pet; Nipples (real name: Napoleon).
Upon getting home I put on a slick of lipstick...
... Changed my outfit...
... and headed down to the pub to see Joe. We always go to the same little pub; a really traditional one whose walls are adorned with memorabilia and has a cosy, heated outdoor area, and is conveniently only a two minute walk away!
Joe was delighted as always to find me taking pictures...
This morning (ahem. 1pm.), we headed out for brunch. We're creatures of habit, and so decided to go to our favourite eatery, a small chain of lounges, our local one being called Grupo Lounge. The menu is pretty mouth-watering, and after a lot of umm-ing and ahh-ing I decided to go for the Eggy Bread Stack, whilst Joe chose the Lounge Breakfast (without the mushrooms, tomato and black pudding, of course). I wanted to order a coca-cola float too but that idea was quickly shot down because obviously I'm not a 7-year-old at a birthday party.
So there we go, 24 hours in the life of KJ. Not completely enthralling, but at least I bit the bullet and stopped being a photo-quality-control-freak, right? Let me know if you liked this kind of post as I am thinking about making it a regular feature!

I actually loved this post. I usually am like yourself a stickler for SLR photos, but I didn't mind the quality as much as I would have anywhere else. I guess you just did it well, in a way that was fun to read. Kudos to you!
