Is owning nine skater skirts a little extensive? It's not, right?
Ok it totally is.
Whilst most bloggers do "My Shoe Collection" posts, I have decided to do one on my collection of skater skirts. Partly because unless you want to see a lot of glittery trainers, a post on my shoe collection would be pretty lame, and partly because I think it's high time I addressed the fact that I have an issue.
I, Kathryn Jamshidi, am addicted to skater skirts.
Now that I've made that little confession, we can begin.
I upcycled this skirt a few weeks ago, you can see my post on it here. I spied it in a charity shop for £3 and not being able to resist a bargain, or a creative project, I nabbed it up and transformed it from a tea-stained, mid-length skirt in to something flippy and cute.
I bought this from Pull And Bear during a London shopping spree a few years ago. I wont deny that the only reason I bought it was because I thought the braces were super cute. So, I essentially spent £30 because I thought some braces were cute. That's not ok, is it?
This skirt is from American Apparel and was given to me by a friend who decided it didn't suit her (score!). I wore it to death last year but this year I haven't gotten as much use out of it, apart from for my candy-cane costume at Christmas. Yeah... That happened.
I made this one a few weeks ago also, you can see my post on it here. I'd lusted after the classic Topshop denim skater for as long as I can remember, so when my Gran gave me a bag of her old clothes including a full-length denim skirt, I cut it up and ended up with this. Not too shabby, eh?
My mum made me this last Christmas, to wear with my blue lycra and velvet leotard during my ballroom competitions and exams. Therefore, I can blame her for adding this one to my collection. Tut tut mother.
This is my latest creation, and something I am rather proud of; usually when I make any form of clothing, I use my sewing machine. However, I sewed this entire skirt by hand which was pretty laborious but makes the finished product feel a tad more special. I think this will end up being a staple piece in my wardrobe this Autumn.
I coveted this Topshop velvet skater skirt for months before my mum gifted it to me for getting good grades at school. It is my go-to piece; as you can see there are threads coming loose and a rather delicious pasta sauce stain on the front! I would highly recommend investing in Topshop skater skirts, they usually vary from £18-£35 and are extremely durable.
This is without a doubt, the coolest skirt I own. I bought it from the online Facebook-shop Glitters For Dinner because, well, swans. Swans on a skirt. That's all I have to say.
Annnd my most recent purchase, featured in my haul post, a tartan piece from Topshop. Before walking in to Topshop I hadn't realised that tartan was so hot this season, but after looking around the store I soon caught on and couldn't resist this skirt. It's so Clueless-esque and I figured if I was going to invest in one tartan piece this season then it better be a skater skirt.
So, that's my collection. I feel as if I have just been to some sort of Skater Skirt Addicts Anonymous meeting, or something. Having done this post, I realised that I actually only paid for 1/3 of my skirts, so at least my addiction isn't harming my bank balance too much!
What do you "collect"? Which skirt is your favourite?

Haha it has taken me a while to build up! I guess one of the perks of having a sewing machine is that I can whip one up whenever I want! :)

Amazing collection! I love skaters skirts as well, and I always buy them all at Zara and Topshop. Although they're all awesome, my favorite one is the Tartan one.
